Let’s talk Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which is currently my favorite ride at Walt Disney World. Located in Epcot, this innovative omni-coaster turns you around while still coasting on the track. This ride is just so much fun! It is so smooth. It’s thrilling without being too intense, has an inthralling storyline and great effects.
Currently, there are two ways you can get on this ride. The easiest way is to buy an Individual Lightning Lane for this attraction. These will go on sale at 7am for resort guests and at park opening for non-resort guests. The price will vary depending on how crowded the parks are that day.
Alteratively, you can try to join the virtual queue for this attraction. There is no extra charge for the virtual queue, but the queue does fill up quickly. You can try to join at 7am and 1pm, and deluxe resort guests have an additional chance at 6pm on select nights. I personally have done both the virtual queue and purchased the Individual Lightning Lane. Using the lightning lane will take you right up to the holding room before the pre-show, whereas you'll have a longer wait using the virtual queue. There are two pre-shows before this attraction,so it does still take some time to get on this ride either way.
Something fun and unique about Guardians of the Galaxy is that there are six different song tracks that you could get while on the ride. As of right now, I have ridden this ride five times and have gotten three different songs. I have gotten “September”, “One Way or Another”, and “Conga.” Out of these my favorite has been “September.” The other three song options are “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “Disco Inferno,” and “I ran (so far away).”
There are a lot of pros to this attraction and only two cons that I can think of.
Pros:
Inside queue with air conditioning
Smooth thrilling coaster
Great effects
Great music
Storyline
Not super difficult to get a virtual queue or Individual Lightning Lane
Cons:
Some people experience motion sickness
No standby queue
This is such a great ride and a great addition to Walt Disney World. I have taken my whole family on this ride and they all loved it. My brother-in-law even bought an extra ticket on his trip just so he could go back to Epcot to ride it again!
